Our journey begins at Plaza de Armas, the oldest square in Havana and a perfect starting point for our tour. This serene plaza is surrounded by stately colonial buildings. The centerpiece is the Palacio de los Capitanes Generales, a stunning example of Cuban Baroque architecture. Once the residence of Spanish governors, it now houses the Museum of the City, which offers fascinating exhibits on Havana’s storied past.

A short walk from Plaza de Armas brings us to the imposing Castillo de la Real Fuerza. This ancient fortress, built to fend off pirate attacks, is one of the oldest stone fortresses in the Americas. Leaving the fortress behind, we stroll down Obispo Street, a bustling pedestrian-only thoroughfare. Lined with shops, cafes, and art galleries, Obispo Street is the perfect place to experience the vibrant energy of Havana. As we meander through the crowds, artists displaying their colorful works, and vendors selling everything from Cuban cigars to handmade crafts.

Continuing our journey, we arrive at the legendary La Bodeguita del Medio. This iconic bar-restaurant  is renowned for its mojitos. The walls are adorned with signatures and memorabilia from countless visitors, creating a lively and nostalgic atmosphere. A mojito here is a must, offering a taste of Havana's rich cultural heritage.

Our next destination is Plaza de la Catedral, home to the magnificent Cathedral of Havana. This stunning Baroque cathedral, with its asymmetrical towers and intricate facade, is one of the city’s most photographed landmarks. Step inside to admire the beautiful interior, or simply enjoy the lively atmosphere of the plaza, where street performers and local vendors often gather.

With our energy restored, we head to Plaza Vieja, one of Havana’s most architecturally eclectic squares. The plaza is surrounded by beautifully restored buildings in styles ranging from Art Nouveau to Cuban Baroque. Visit the Camera Obscura for a unique, panoramic view of the city, and explore the many cafes, boutiques, and galleries that line the square.
